Building a New CPU for Gaming

Hi guys, after consideration, I decide to give my current rig to my cousin (let he buy a new GPU himself). I want to continue a very old project which I wanted to do but never did.

A few years back I ordered an Osmi casing which took almost 1yr to ship to me. Then I just left it collecting dust and never do anything to it. Now could be a good time to finally build a small computer. Below is the config

MSI Z270i ITX Mainboard
7700K
low profile cooler. Not going to OC.
2 x 8GB DDR4 RAM (2400 should be enough)
MSI GTX1070 Aero ITX (this one small enough to fit casing)
512GB Samsung 950 Pro (reuse)
SFX 600W PSU

Monitor, KB, Mouse and speakers all reuse back.

What do you think? Is it ok?

If you're not overclocking, maybe can get a cheaper H270 board?

like what idj say since not OC can drop i7 7700K to non k and mobo to h270.

yes ram 2400Mhz is more than enough else can consider 2133Mhz (both performance not much difference.

as for gpu should be fine if u get that. but might need to squeeze your psu cable. (though im not sure if the clearance is enough or not.)

Thats an interesting case design but the layout and airflow will be quite bad. The 7700K is a very hot chip and most low profile coolers will struggle to cool it. At the very minimum, see if a Cyrorig c7 (48mm height) will fit as CPU cooler. Otherwise, if not possible, i strongly suggest going with a 7700 (non K, runs cooler) and noctua nh-l9 cooler (i think around 37mm height) which is very low profile and quiet

Actually you can still go for a K cpu even when you're not OCing cause you'll get that boost anyway without doing anything for a small premium. I have a similar K cpu but on a non-oc friendly board cause it goes to 4.4ghz by itself. But then again if TS wants to OC in the future then his current board would still be good. Just buy an AIO or go tall tower if OC is in the cards. Can always keep your options open but for me I do zero workstation tasks, only gaming and media so decided to settle on a non oc board.
