Not sure whether this was discussed. Like to find out if any experience in purchasing laptops from Amazon or any other US site?
In general most laptops cannot be shipped here if direct from Amazon,so will need to use Vpost...etc.
Like to know the typical charges of shipment & if any issues with customs clearance for laptops.

Is it really justifiable to buy laptop from amazon? for sure GST have to pay based on the purchase price and I doubt amazon can under-declare the value of the item. also most likely warranty is not applicable, even if there is, only one year international.

I believe most adaptors come with the 230/110VAC compatibility nowadays.
The cost difference can be about $300 to $400 for some laptops...so even if u throw in GST & shipping charges,u will still gain quite abit.
Only concern will be the warranty as some brands come w/o international coverage....so risk here, but it is only 1 year in most cases. Risk % of new laptops fail within 1 year is low, esp for established & stable models.
