Hello

Going Hokkaido in Feb, should I buy winter boots here, or can reach there then buy?

Any advice?

TIA

boots?

what kind are you referring to?
what are u intending to do over there?

if you want those furry boots to keep ur toes warm, you do have to consider that you wun wear the shoes here

if you are talking about anti slip on ice and sleet then you can get the spikes attachment over there

I simply wore those rubber boots like PCK one with heat tech socks inside. Sometimes I wear SAF gortex boots also (provided I bother to bring or wear there).

Depend in what he plan to use
A shoe with all terrain outsole
For me I use my trusty timberland with all terrain so i can use it overseas ans locally too

So it's a win win solution and not be a white elephant when I come back from holiday

even if it's just for walking or playing in the snow, waterproof shoes are a must or else when the snow melts and your shoes are wet, be ready for frozen feet
