Can a bad CPU cause random restart?

Hey guys,

I have been having random restarts in a machine. The machine wont even be on for minute and it will restart. Even when I'm in bios, it will restart on its own within a minute.

I have tried to troubleshoot by
1) removing everything except CPU -> error beep codes but will restart when it is beeping halfway
2) try the power supply on another computer and it runs without restart
3) I suspected it's motherboard, bring it down to service center and when they try it with their equipment, all is well

So what I have left is the CPU. Anything else I might have missed?

But have u tested the RAM already?

I have even took out both rams and let the system go on error beeps. restarts when beeping halfway.

Don't have to take out both rams. Just one stick at a time.

You should try replacing a working PSU into your system. If no more restart, means your PSU is having intermittent problems, which is hard to detect,
