Women like uncles who sing non-threatening rock songs. It's not just Mayday.

Women today like men who are somewhat "metrosexual".

They certainly doesn't like men who are totally feminine. And they also doesn't like men who are traditionally "man". E.g. the classic rock bands that don long hair, leather jackets and sing about death, demons and devils or how they are going to rule the world.

They like somewhere i between.

May Day's image is of modern day sensitive men who care about feelings and the same time "mild rock" that is accepted by them. Not too loud and doesn't sing about negative demons, death, blood and sweat like traditional rock bands Iron Maiden etc. May Day's members in general, they have the common people look or at least the front man look cute.

To compare, Wu Bai looks ugly, too old and his music is too "rough" for young female fans.
