Currently using default Airline 4920.and I am thinking of getting the netgear Orbi. Do 1 have to disable the DHCP in the Orbi in order for it to work with ONR?

THANKS

Netgear singapore has published an article for singtel users using ONT.

For ONR users, you need to setup the device to be in AP mode, not just deliberately disable DHCP.

refer to this article for step by step guide: https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point

Thanks. I am also using Asus Ac2400 coonected to the ONR by creating vlan. Presumely I can get the Orbi to work in the same manner too

Mine Confirmed is a ONR. IT has DHCP AND CAN'T be disabled. Direct connect via WAN won't work with 3rd party router

2GB plan. Yes my router is using one of the ports

I see. Then you have the ONR and supposedly you can just connect your own router (Asus or the Orbi) as AP and no need Vlan.

Edit to add: And as the pros here mentioned, you can look at the Ubiquity Unifi AC Lite AP x 2 at S$250 and supposedly cheaper and better than the consumer WiFi Mesh system like Orbi.

Ubiquity Unifi does not seem to have tech support...
