Cannot boot into BIOS

Hello, I'm having some issues booting into BIOS. Fast Boot is disabled.

So far, i was able to previously until i attempted to connect an old Sata SSD and the issue occured.

My bootable device is on an m.2 pcie ssd and i have no issues booting into Windows. However, i am unable to do boot into bios by pressing DEL or choosing to update UEFI firmware settings through the start button.

Whenever i try press DEL or attempt to boot to BIOS, There is an error code on the mobo which displays A2 and it is just a black screen.

I tried resetting CMOS and BIOS settings is now on default. I know it has reset because XMP is not switched on when i checked the task manager and resizable bar is off (probably due to enabled CSM).

Anyone can advise how i can boot into bios without the errors ?

Hold down the backspace + del keys when booting.

Hello. Its the same. A2 error code when trying.

A2 is bootable device error. You can try disconnecting all the drives except for the M.2 and see if it boots into BIOS.

May I check if your old sata ssd plug into the first sata port?

Some motherboard have mentioned that if we use m.2 ssd as main boot drive it could be in conflict with certain sata port.

maybe you can check on your motherboard manual or you can try plug in the old sata ssd to other sata port to see if any error occurred.

Turns out, the issue lies in the monitor not picking up the signal from GPU or vice versa. I changed the cable from DP to HDMI and had no issues booting into bios. I wonder why....

Checked. Its plugged into Sata3 Port number 2 which does not share the same bandwidth as either M.2 nvme in the first, second or third m.2 slot.

Hmm, connecting to DP on your GFX does not work but the HDMI does. Could just be your GFX card display port either not working, incompatible or inactive.

I think it is somewhat of "not compatible". The GFX's DP are all rated 1.4a and they are all working properly. The issue is that the cable that the monitor manufacturer gave is 1.2 and that the OSD setting on the monitor is set ti DP 1.4. I changed this to 1.2 and tried rebooting again. Now i can see the bios page. Problem solved!

If you have UEFI and secure boot turn on. First you need to boot into win 10, Setting, update and security, recovery, advanced startup, restart now, troubleshoot, advance option, and select UEFI Firmware setting, restart, and PC should be going into bios mode.
