Hi Norman, thank you for your reviews. I am not sure if it is appropriate to check with you here. How is Canon E560 compared to this G3000?

I do not print a lot, maybe once a few pc in a while, but my wife may print more in future, materials for kids. I am currently using a Epson all-in-one, 5 years old. It is quite huge and no wifi function. Initially I was thinking to replace it with a monochrome laser printer and a simple scanner. But, I find that printing colors and photos will be more and more necessary for us in time to come, so I still go back to all-in-one.

I am considering G3000, but it is quite ex, and I think my usage doesn't justify that.

What win me over to buy the G3000 is the ink tanks and the photo printing software (Easy Print).

Although the initial price is high at S$300+ but the long term will be cost saving for the inks.

For the E560 , the black ink is S$21.15 and the color ink (3 colors inside one cartridge) is S$25.25 , the disadvantages of the 3 in 1 color is that if anyone of the color finishes , you need to change the whole cartridge regardless of the other two colors still can print. Also the stated as 300 pages for color and 800 pages for mono printing , you need to put it as 50% discount or more depending usually what you going to print and how much coverage is the printing are , reason is the print coverage is base on 4% or 5% print area on the spec of pages printing. If you often print color photos (100% coverage print area) or color printing , the color ink will not last.

Unless you go buy 3rd party ink and refill it.

Yesterday bought the MP-101 4R Matte Photo Paper (S$20.25 for 120 sheets) and after using it , surprised to find it print quality is good. Less adjustment is needed to be done on the original photos.

Any Canon inkjet printer user encounter on the life span of the sponge (located at the base of the home station of the print-heads when not in use) when it indicate "Full" on screen?

Just saw the new model, TS5070. The size is what I want! Price at $199, I think I will get this, although no ink-efficient.

Besides the price, look at the volume of the above cartridges. I think it is less than 10ml.
The G2000 ink on the contrary is like 70ml or so. So one were to compare volume for volume, i think the above easily 7 to 10 times more expensive.

Think the "XL" is 22ml and the others is 15ml , that is for black only. Think the color is much lesser. You need to physical see the printed info on the cartridge box.

yes, that is what I mean.

For the wireless scanning only can be done on the computer which is connected wireless to the printer. You must scan from the computer software and the scanned document will transfer to your computer.

You cannot scan from the printer first than select which computer to transfer the scanned document to since it does not has a LED/LCD panel to display the job.

For the Canon printer would recommend both Canon MP-101 4R Matte Photo Paper (S$20.25 for 120 sheets) and the Epson photo papers Premium SemiGloss (30 pc at S$7.30) for good results 4R photo printing.

The Canon GP-508 is the cheapest photo paper at 100 pc for S$5 but the print quality for black is "grey black" and normal print-out the color sometime is wash-out and dull.

So how is the TS5070 compared to the Pixma G2000? Care to advice? Thanks
