Hi all,

would like to check is there any other case that is of a better choice compared to Corsair Obsidian 450D?
Would a Pre-built system by Acer's motherboard would be able to be fitted in?

Also 600W PSU enough to power a i5-2310 system with GTX 980?

Thanks.

1) Define 'better'. What are the qualities of the casing that will make you want to get that casing over the Corsair 450D?

2) Most OEM mobos, if not using custom form factors to fit into slim casings, should be of M-ATX size and can easily fit into an ATX casing.

3) A good quality 600W PSU should be sufficient enough to power an i5-2310 and a GTX 980.

Maybe better in term of airflow and noise?
Though i know that more air flow contributes to more noise, is there other case that has a good balance between the two?

Have looked at the H440, but it seems like the air flow is quite restricted as the front and top vents are quite limited.

Any other case other than the two model?

Can take a look at Define R5.

you can look at cases which are typically silent, but give u the option of opening up the vents should u need or want more airflow. Define series is one example. not sure y u think 450D is a good balance cos there are front vents. in any case, just keep fans to a minimal, running around 1k rpm and get low noise fans, the noise will be barely noticeable. a covered front grill will block out noise even more.

i've been playing with quite a few cases of late for fun. my current Air 240 was at first noisy cos i had lots of fans. i now just keep it to 3 and it's much better. i also use a AIO cooler.

i switch my acer xc605 mobo to a new case too. so i think yours should fit too. it should be matx.

For the 450D at first i was looking at the airflow that it can provide. I didnt really mean that it is a good balance as like what you mentioned, the front vents will be more noisy.

Was thinking of maybe getting a fan controller to go together with it.

Currently looking at the define R5. After looking at some videos on youtube, the H440 like not that good cause of the limited vents though the case does look cool.

So maybe now left with the R5 and 450D to choose from.

Corsair cases are good to work with, providing easy cable management and tool free assembly. but i've to admit build quality may not be the best. u can notice some wobbly or loose parts sometimes. my 250D is currently in RMA processing due to causing mobo bending. thankfully, Corsair is more responsive than the distro here. Can u believe it? i buy an item thinking got local warranty end up i deal direct with manufacturer for warranty. Anyway, enough of my ranting. Hardwarecanucks reviewed the 450D and mentioned the build quality too. still, it's a great looking case, and user friendly.

while i like the functionality of Fractal, i cannot deny the h440 looks awesome. i doubt heat will be much of an issue if u as long as there's sufficient cooling. u can read more about it on Overclock.net. They have case forums with individual clubs as well.

600W PSU is more than enough for a single GTX980 barring the EVGA Classified Edition.

I'm using 4790k with reference GTX980 SLI and drawing around 550W from PSU and all of them are OCed
