Hi guys,

I need some input..

am using citibank cc with sub card to gf.

Recently just got charged annual fees

To my knowledge, annual fees are payables however, my annual fee for my sub card to my gf got deducted straight from my bank. I did not set up any form of auto deduction in place.

Is that how sub card works that annual fees are deducted straight away?

1. There is no way for banks to auto deduct if you did not set up a standing instruction so its just not possible. I presume you have a citibank account? If not i don't see how they can deduct from other banks. Main card or sub card no difference, they will just charge to you but will not be any different.

2. Don't ever pay annual fees, always ask for waiver else just cancel it. Annual fees are paid for next year of usage, not for previous year so just cancel if cannot waive off, don't need to pay a single cent. I got >10 credit cards and i don't pay any annual fees.

Even after bank deduct fees from your bank account, you can call bank card centre and request for fee waiver, if approve they will credit the fees back to your bank or card.
