Hi all,
Seek some experts advice on building a CCIE R&S lab for practical studies.
Is it better to get a PC or a Laptop for such preparation.
Will be using GNS3 + 4x C3650.
My hardware options :
1)PC
- Intel i7-3930k
- 32GB Ram
- 512GB SSD
- 1TB HDD
- 3 PCI Slot motherboard (Cant find much for newer models)
OR
2)Laptop
- Thinkpad W530 (Intel 3820QM)
- 32GB Ram
- 512GB SSD
- 1TB HDD
Software : Ubuntu Linux / GNS3 / ser2net
To Simulate 12 router ports :
- 2x Satechi 12 Port USB Hub with Power Adapter & 2 Control Switches
- 14x Plugable USB 2.0 to 10/100 Fast Ethernet LAN Network RJ45 Adapter (ASIX AX88772 chipset)
- 4x USB to RS232 Serial DB9 Cable Adapter FTDI Chipset 10 Feet
Anyone here preparing for the lab using GNS3?
