An old beedio, but until today this "phenomenon" there like still no change

Those lucky enuf will get recruited into their own airline coys , others will try their luck at foreign ones

But due to the highly-competitive nature of local airlines industry there and the "stereotype" of ppl they have/want (ie. woman must be tall, slim, pretty, model-like etc) , think most will hab better chance with foreign airlines

Some will aim those "glamorous" or major airlines for a better pay or to haolian to their peers , while some will content with LCC aka budget airlines despite lower pay compared to full-service airline

Either way , on both carriers still get earn salary while get to travel around the world (still get additional staff/crew perks and travel benefits for ownself and family)

Glad to see our SIA/Scoot hab been recruiting many Koreans (must able know basic engrish, if know Chinese or other languages will be added plus-point) and other nationalities due to manpower crunch and job that sinkies "notch many want do"




PS: Tiagong there's some Spore-Korea 50 yrs Commemorative Events going on , hope to see our CNA can do a documentary to showcase abt living/training/working life of Korean cabin crew zehzehs in SIA/Scoot to celebrate the occasion

Not sure if most know this:
Singapore formed ties with the best Korea, DPR Korea, earlier than they did with the ROK.

Their "standard" quite high de , notch any suka suka can get in huan

KAL ish their national carrier like our SIA ma , so must need certain criteria

Scoot since it's a LCC and budget-arm of SIA, think their selection process quite toned-down and less-rigid than SIA huan

But of cos on personality/service/training etc level shud be at least on par with international standards

Yes, the quality and standards for KAL are there unlike SIA.

It is a very reputable job in SK.

AFAIK , koreans and Japs are very "face and reputation" oriented when cums service industry line

Even much so when national pride and proud cums in question , they very "rigid" huan

Our SIA/Scoot at least gotch some elements of "joy and fun" lapse during training and re-familiarization phase

Service industry wise, Japan and South Korea are miles ahead. It is majority their own people too.

Here in sgp, the service industry is filled with all the random nationalities everywhere :s22:

i think dont fit SIA standard of beauty.

I"ve seen many SIA stewardess tenants before..
they all have that kinda look for the chinese ..
fair fair.. and eyebrow and face and mannerism is those you see liao.. it's not aggressive.. but very comforting and approachable type ... (when they talk to you.and smile)..

This type i've seen before..as well .. korean office workers here..
their mannerism when you speak to them .. you feel like not comfortable.. like they are not there to serve u...type.

actually, u see korean airlines. they also have similar type like SIA mannerism

Korean airlines more tougher selection (esp if its international flight route) , from what moi hab watched from youtube

Thats why many prefer apply foreign airlines , higher chance of get recruited ie. Cathay, Emirates, Etihad, Qatar etc

For those who prefer "closer to their homes" , will cum to our region ie. SIA/MAS , Scoot/Airasia

To be sexpected de , cos the service-line here notch many locals wanna do

Jobs that sinkies dun want do , obviously they will gib to FTs

Over the past yrs, SIA and Scoot hab been taking in mostly from MSIA/CHN/TW/KR/JP/THAI etc

But so far moi noticed, its the Koreans that "very much interested" want bcum cabin crews

And most of them dun bother so much whether join major or small (budget) airlines , as nong it fly international and they get to travel the world rather than stay own country do mundane work or no work at all

Alot wor , mai siao siao hor

They even gotch dedicated centers or academies on teaching all the etiquette of bcuming one

If chiu notch from lich family or notch lich taitai , one way of getting the "dream" of travel the world accomplished while earning a job ish bcum cabin crew

Only pros, it will take a toll on chiur health/body over time due to the "irregular" timings of chiur schedule

Thats why its better to do it while chiu young (early - late 20s) and mostly maximum will only do 7-10 yrs , those who can still tong after that of cos will do longer if they interested
