Some factors to consider:
1. Will you be able to catch up? I assume MS has quite a few engineering mods, so it won't be entirely too unfamiliar to you (calculations and stuff like that). But there are also the business mods that require a different way of tackling the questions.
2. The cohort is pretty small and they have spent a year together already. Will you be able to fit in? (I'm assuming you will get some credits and get placed to year 2)
3. To get into the police force, its not so much what you study but what your results are. So you'll have to find the course that you can score well in. That being said, you may be able to score better in MS than in applied maths?
4. IDK where you live, but ntu is really an island of its own. That might play into your factors to consider, especially if you are an eastie whose friends are not from ntu. Imagine meeting your friends in nus after your lesson in ntu ends

Tl;dr sometimes studying isn't just about interest. It's better if you list out the issues that will affect you during your studies (especially non-academic ones)
