Cheap, small camera

Hi,

I am looking to buying a cheap and not too bulky camera.
Am looking around at carousell and saw the Nikon 1 J1 going for about $200 pre owned.
Would it be a good choice or would I be better off sticking to my iPhone camera or any other recommendation?
Also saw the Sony alpha a5000 going for $300 plus at qoo10, never buy from qoo10 before, u guys think reliable? And would it be a better choice?

get from qoo10. dont get the used camera.

the a5000use the same image processor as the high end ones. you will be pleased with the picture quality without the need to edit

Your phone's camera that is, unless it's a old model with 480-720p capture only.

I was hoping for something that I can hang around my neck and just pick up and click on the go when I go traveling knowing that it will have battery.
On a handphone, I text, surf and take photo, if I don't ration the use of my phone, half day my batt will be flat.

Thing about hand phone ( I still using an old iPhone 6 Plus) is I cannot get a nice bokeh shot and it's no good at night.

cheap camera also hard to get good bokeh and night shot...

u should be looking at something above $700(new) for that 2 criteria

else older preowned models... like a lumix lx5 or lx7 ...

a5000 really worth it at $3XX

Can buy from Qoo10 when they have the $100 or $50 off discount coupon. Get from local store so have warranty. Don't risk with export set.

I manage to get a brand new local set Nikon D3400 for $150 less than RRP from qoo10 with store discount and voucher coupon. Paid like $600 only for the exact same deal at IT Show!

I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus as well!

If and when I travel, I'll just bring along a power bank to deal with the battery life issue. As for night shots, ProCam 4 - Manual Camera + RAW will give you the option to change your shutter speed but you'll need a tripod to keep it steady. Can't help out with the bokeh shot effect there.

the default lens give nice bokeh effect using zoom as u can see in the link above

on my a5000 with a $30 f1.7 lens
