We should look for the longest warranty and not what brand... The BEST is HGST Ultra... but more ex then WD blacks...

I'm looking for those slim ones, 9.5mm ones - to remove it for notebook use. So far, only Seagate sells it. Then again, Seagate has bought over Samsung HDD. so not sure if the Samsung 2tb is the slim one.

The WDC portable HDDs SATA3 ports have been replaced with USB3.

Compare the height of Samsung M3 drive and a bare 2.5" and you will know if there is SATA connector on the drive. A 2.5" drive with USB3.0 connector soldered onto the PCB is shorter than one using a PCB (sata to usb3.0) connector.
