Hi all,

I'm intending to build a new system with a z270 and i7-7700k, but a little confused with the choice of RAM.

I'm aware that z270 natively supports DDR4-2400. In what circumstance should I get memory with higher frequencies (e.g., 3200)? Hypothetically, can I get DDR4-2400 CL14, while overclocking the CPU?

When you fancy seeing a higher number in the frequency readout and a bigger hole in your wallet

Get cheaper valuerams. No drop in tangible performance.

if you are feeling rich OR u have a certain look that you want to have in your pc that is only available with the higher frequency rams, then buy them.
If not like the other bros have mentioned, 2400mhz or KVR rams will do fine.
