[clarifications] scabby thread being merged

Member @Scrabby has been providing us entertainment for past years of the world cup with his predictions and I'm sure many have benefited from his jinx power.

Today someone merged his thread with some other thread which made it lost its appeal.

Appealing to the admin team to let scrabby have his own discussion thread for individual matches.

At least 1 match 1 thread ma. Whole world cup merge into 1 thread then rest of EDMW is filled with all the political, xenophobic and racists rant threads u all prefer like that meh. Let us have some fun...

agree, ah gui the head of edmwers' welfare propose the following:

- let Scrabby have his own thread
- allow Scrabby individual thread to survive few hours after match ends before merge

there are so many threads on predictions and discussions never merge why merge Scrabby thread only

As thread was locked before anyone could ask, I would like to clarify on the following:

By saying @Scrabby is allowed to have ONE thread, does this mean one thread per match, or one consolidated thread for all matches? It seems puzzling that mods say they listen to feedback and yet nothing changed.

If it's the latter, here are my 2 cents worth:

1) Scrabby's threads are highly entertaining and are probably one of the best things to happen in this forum. The thread titles are what makes it gold and consolidating it defeats the purpose. It makes no sense to do away with one of the more positive things in this increasingly toxic forum.

2) Newer members will find it hard to track Scrabby's prediction. Some won't know how to use the bookmark function. Additionally by consolidating into one thread, the thread will be moved very fast and this makes tracking even harder. More so if matches occur back to back.

3) Scrabby is not a thread spammer or forum nuisance. Such events happen only once in 4 years and more leeway should be given. Furthermore, his threads are not gambling threads but prediction threads so I don't see any issue?

Otherwise, please explain why his threads are consolidated if my points are invalid.

Okie, after hearing your 2 cents, and since WC is a 4 yrs event, we want to be happy, we also want users to be happy. We want all to be happy. This will be the way going forward now for this WC event period.

1) Scrabby can create thread for every WC game. But same rules applied, no gambling no monetary transaction. You guys promise, i trust you guys.

2) Similar football thread beside Scrabby will be merged to reduce confusion of similar threads.
