CM sickle flow 120mm

hi just bought this fan. how should mount the fan on the top of my casing?

my casing currently have one back and one front.

so that back is exhaust, front is intake.

so this new fan should be exhaust also right?

in that case the coolermaster logo should face up right?

Like the one in the link. I should see this logo when i look into my case from the top .

Are you asking if the fans themselves are intake or exhaust? That doesn't make any sense. If you hold the fan in front of you with the wire on back and the center logo facing you, that's the direction that air will be going in. So for the top, you want exhaust. So mount the fans with the back facing up.


So as a exhaust fan, it should be the opposite.

Sound like a dumb question, but if i feel the fan blowing towards me. then in that direction is a exhaust set up. if the fan not blowing towards me then in that direction is a intake set up right?

to set it as exhaust jus make sure that the air pressure is outwards.

the logo that you shown should be facing up if you want to mount it on top of a case as a exhuast. if u flip the other side it will become in take.

if you look at this website, SickleFlow 120 Blue LED Fan (R4-L2R-20AC-GP) - Cooler Master the side that the image shown is the intake side.

No problem.

If you only have a intake and 2 exhaust, your CPU will get dusty pretty quickly due to the negative pressure pulling in air from all gaps.

ah any suggestion? I currently have a open set up. means the side have no casing.

install 1 more intake ? does open set up have better air flow ar?

i am on closed setup. open can be better but will have alot of dust lo.

my cpu on stock cooler running at 64C and graphic card at around 70C when playing dota.

just install a old 80cm fan by tying it to the 5.25" cage directing air to the graphic card to see if can bring down temp abit more or not.

on my CM 430 case i got 3 intake fans and one exhaust fan. the exhaust fan is at the rear. 1 intake fan in the front one on top and one at the bottom of the case.

oh.. now i got it! haha..
so intake cool air is better than exhausting hot air? coz thought the usual practice is top exhausting despite that theres dust filter at the top too for intake

for me when i try it right. using the top as exhuast makes not much difference so i change to intake lo. cool the cpu slightly better.

plus positive airflow also better to slow down dust build up. the one i use on top is not very strong.
