Hi guys
Anyone has heard of Havenport fixed maturity fund. ?

It’s a 12 months SGD denominated bond fund with underlying investment in Chong Sing Holdings Fintech 12 months debenture.

Returns is Gross 8% p.a.

Any feedbacks on the risk ?

the risk is that the company may disappear with ur $.

8% quite unlikely as it is a bond fund. Private equity fund the name normally unknown hence "private" so yeah the risk is they run with your money.

I think if they're still trying to raise money six months later, on exactly the same terms, the risk is that the company's either going to rapidly go bankrupt (if they're real) or just run off to Belize for an extended vacation with your money.

Don't get involved.

Havenport not trustable

I just heard that Havenport delay payment for 1 year with no interest. It is a risky investment.

I got back my $ with interest after investing into one of the fund with them.

It is FMF4. The maturity date is 23 nov 2019. The draft letter of Havenport said:

"XXX has provided a conservative estimate of end-2020 to complete the project.

What this means to you
▪ This enforcement action by the Fund has no impact on the coupon payment SGD6,000 due to you. This will be credited to your account on 8 October 2019, ahead of scheduled 23 November 2019.
▪ Havenport cannot provide certainty of full capital repayment upon project completion/at the conclusion of this enforcement action; while the potential for full capital recovery is good, it is in our assessment also possible that investors may experience a small loss."

So, this means that Havenport will pay interest but not the principal (which is S$100k). Since the project completion is end-2020, this means that you don't know if you can get back the principal before end 2020.

The agent also says there is no interest for the year 2020.

Even worst, you may only get S$6000 finally since Havenport may not pay the principal.
