Hi guys,

A year ago, I assembled myself a desktop for Windows 8 and it was working perfectly. Switching it on would see windows loaded in minutes and transfer speed are all excellent.

Problem 1.
Half a year ago, I started encountering problems whereby the start up could not automatically read the disc carrying my OS. A blue screen would pop-up stating Windows is not installed/found. I had to manually enter the bios and select the SSD to load. This problem is on/off so I didn't really make a fuss out of it.

Problem 2.
A month ago, I realized that the system started to slow down a lot. Transfers from my HDD took a long time to move and occasionally crash, games installed on the HDD took a long time to load. It was only recently that this Intel Rapid Technology thingy started prompting me to suppress SMART activity on my HDD and occasionally error messages pops up warning of disc failure - Can I assume that my HDD is crashing?

Question.
Would problem 1 be linked to problem 2? Assuming that I replace the HDD, would it go back to my problemless state when i first built the PC? or is it any other factor like PSU not strong enough, virus, or anything?

Hope bros can help out! Heading to Sim Lim later for HDD-

1) Download and run HD Tune and use this program to check SMART status of SSD and HDD and use this program to scan HDD for bad sectors.

2) Got try using other SATA 3 ports on the mobo and other SATA cables for your SSD? Which Kingston SSD are you using?
