I did a MRI and went to a private specialist to review the results.

Word for word, this is what the MEMO says:

Above mentioned patient presented with severe back pain after a gym incident. Symptoms of severe left sided radicular pain down to L5 dermatome. Straight leg raise is only about 35 deg on left, with much back pain.

MRI shows a L5S1 and L4/5 disc bulge with posterior annular fissure, more evident on L5S1.

Please excuse running, marching, jumping activities and heavy loads for 1 month.

-END OF MEMO-

Will downpes? perm? what grade?

Thank You

Hmm 1 month only?

Ask your MO. Nobody here can and should comment.

Won't be surprise if the MO just follow your specialist recommendation and excuse you RMJ+Heavy load for 1 month that's all and ask you come back for review after a month time.

Did you ask your private specialist that the execuse is only for a month? Generally with private specialist the discussions can be more open such as about re-occurring injuries and injuries that don't need any operations for now but are not too good for heavy load (hernia) and you can explain your situation to them. It's private and you are paying a premium. Cheers!

He'll give you that 1 month RMJ for sure. Maybe add in Heavy Load, Upper Limb etc etc.

As for perm down or up pes, for that to happen you will need to see the Medical Board for that to happen if I am not wrong.

Over there, you'll see like 5-10 doctors together. No really, I'm serious. When I was at mine, there were 3 civilian specialists doctors, 4 from army, 1 af, 1 navy and 1 SCDF. They'll go through all your records and and discuss what to do with you.
