Lift door will open into a private lift lobby, before entering the main door.
Fire Safety Issue, to prevent fire in a lift from spreading direct into the dwelling.

Not so easy statistically to have other ppl share lift with u… unless the building is >30 stories. Can always wait for next lift if u don’t like ppl seeing into your house

I went to my rich China friend condo once. The lift opened into his house straight away face the big balcony with sweeping unblock views towards the south. Can see everything. That was the moment that impresses me the most and inspired me to work hard to get something similar next time lol..

Ps he also told me very easy to impress girls. The lift open only they all impressed

Mostly there is still a door but often people just leave it open, which allows people to look inside for sure.

We have a private lift and in my view, it can be slower than when sharing a common lift. It really depends on the number of units sharing that lift. In our case, 26 units share a single private lift. Most of the time, I am the only person taking the lift, but occasionally, when I am at the B1 lift lobby, the lift happens to be on a high floor, it takes a while for the lift to come down to B1 for me to enter. On the other hand, if you are sharing a few common lifts, even if one of them is on a high floor, another lift may be able to serve you. As mentioned at the outset, it's just a probability issue that turns on the number of people sharing the private lift or the common lifts.

We have a main door that blocks people in the lift from looking into our house, but it's mostly because we have a dog. I have seen into my neighbours' homes before but I don't find it an issue unless the family members have a habit of walking around undressed or half-dressed.

Newer condos will have smart function to call lifts via your phone in advance.

The only problem is, private lift down, you have to take the service lift and most likely you will forget where you left your back door key or forget to bring it out with you.

End up, you are down with the private lift. :ROFLMAO:

Thats why i wondering how really practical it is
But overall buyers/upgraders sure feel nice like ah i got "private lift"
I live in Hdb now and my neighbours are okay

Private lift only matters if your neighbours are **** and always use the common area in ways you don't like (very rare and usually you only know until you move in)

A bit bizarre here lol… have you guys really used private lift and found it not practical or useless?

it’s not like amazing but it’s definitely good. Breakdown of private lift doesn’t happen often, in fact, never seen it for the condos I have stayed. Still they have access to the common lift if required.

a lot of privacy and no common area you have to walk through on your way home. Sometimes with clutter and/or kids playing.
