Connect two laptop with same screen

My asus laptop has a broken screen (cannot see anything but working). How to use my touch screen microsoft surface go2 as a monitor. Asus got hdmi port, surface got only type c port. Please help.

Technically can but you must be able to see and do configuration on the Asus laptop first. At this point, it might better to just repair the screen or just get an portable monitor and connect via hdmi instead

If I buy a portable monitor with HDMI port meaning just connect one end of hdmi to asus and the other end to portable monitor then it works? Thank you.

I have 1 laptop screen spoil cannot see anything. My desktop computer is good. Can i connect the laptop to use my desktop monitor as a screen display? Monitor only 1 vga port. Is there any cable that I can use for either laptop or desktop without plug in n out the vga? Meaning either laptop or desktop computer on it will display to monitor. I wouldn't be using 2 computer at the same time. Thank you.

Now I found the desktop also have HDMI port. So I should buy the switch VGA to monitor, 2 HDMI port to desktop and laptop. Am I right? Thank you
