Corsair AX-850

I've encountered sparks sound on many occasions and after reading a substantial number of posts, I've decided to send it to Convergent for a RMA instead of waiting for bigger issue to happen.

Calling e service centre, was told to bring e PSU and its cables down. I asked if I will be able to go back with a PSU on e same day and to my amazement, the staff then revealed tt AX-850 was discontinued and they will work out something for me and I may have to top up money.

I'm seeking for anyone who has the same experience as I wanna know what PSU he/she gets in the end or buy a new one of a different brand. The PSU is in its 3rd year but for e price i've paid when i bought it, I expected it to last at least 5 years.

i think top up wont be too much , just change it to AX860i .
Btw i tot AX850 is 7 year warranty :s11:

Huh, the AX series discontinued already? Oh no... was actually thinking of buying the AX 750.

Indeed, it's carrying a 7-year warranty. As AX-850 is discontinued, i guess the best they can do is change another model + top up for you. And on a second thought, I'm pondering on whether or not to RMA as it's merely 3 years and the PSU is faulty... :look:

Wanna share this piece of information so AX-850 users will know of its discontinuity... Cheers!

You can request to downgrade the watt to AX760 or AX760i as well .

Some serious design or component issue with Corsair AX750 & 850 to warrant discontinue?
