many of those talks are useless, just like the staff of cpf.

one of their favorite statement is:

"With CPF life standard, you get a higher monthly payout but a lower bequest compared to CPF life basic. full stop."

you tell this type of useless statement helpful or not.

higher monthly payout: how much higher? how did they arrive at this number?

lower bequest: how much lower? what is their calculations?

to me, there will be a point, if the monthly payout is raised sufficiently, that i will chose cpf life standard.

it is through the people here at the forum that we analyzed the numbers. many of use come to the conclusions that basic is better.

my comment has double implications, u just revealed one, spot on! :s13:

There was a forum speakers being Jack Ma and Musk. Ma does not believe AI is smarter than human. Besides not liking Ma whose surname really is the same as Ma Hou Pao, I think he's dead wrong in this case: Google AI is certainly much smarter than human.

Back to the point, knowledge is certainly from Google. Perseverance to Google, yes 100%. We call this keyboard warriors, don't we ?

I totally respect him for his knowledge, helpfulness and perseverance. However his predilection with cpf life is extraordinary, to the point of ignoring facts...

May be CPFB should have separate talks for novice, reasonably informed and advanced members instead of treating all as novice. Can't blame them if one chooses to attend talk meant for the general public.

If got good freebies like free food spread, even advanced members would attend talk that's not useful :s13:

Lol.
Very few like to see his buy - $100 1 hour later.
But anyway, it was +$250 today.
Lol.
My first ipo was Keppel Bank & I am still in stocks.

We felt the heart pain to see YZJ crashed.

Yet your heart sank when OCBC dipped 5c only from 10.50 just after you bought it :s13: Weak heart better stay away from shares.

Looking at the tables.....I will choose Basic.
Now just deciding whether to go for FRS or ERS.

Having said that, imho, I do not see the rationale to go for Standard plan at all.

i will choose Basic too.

but is looking at tables really useful? for most of us, it is just a bunch of numbers. the numbers move as predicted. is it really worth the effort?

it is like insurance agent showing you tables of numbers after numbers. does the numbers makes sense? unless you are a walking financial calculator, you will not really make out whether their policies are good or not.

Even if they hold separate talks, the content would still be the same, they will still choose to withhold info on the "most sensitive part of CPF Life" :s13:

Dun expect "good freebies" but still got cheap food and drinks (gardenia bun and mineral water) :s13: I still attend occasionally to see "what's new" in the presentation, even I dun attend I still try to get hold of the handouts to confirm they are still withholding info :s13:

CPF talks are free, like this forum.
Interesting to gain some knowledge esp when some ask questions, just like here.
Read for fun.

Atomic posted misinformation but others corrected it.

You discovered CPF was a 'scam' & I suggested you
to write to Straits Times.
And you kept quiet.

..... he/she does research, read and get confused by that article, came here to seek clarifications and got it (hopefully).

U obviously did not read my "warning letter", reposted below:

Is it true?

1. You obviously failed your english and comprehension skills
2. You cannot differentiate facts from fiction
3. You like to create and spread falsehoods
4. You have no basis or proof of your statements or allegations
5. It is you own believe but u fictionalise it as others.

Have u read someone was just issued with a legal letter to take down falsehoods or allegations against PM on facebook? Do u want to delete your scam post?

Your language and standard of english/comprehension belong to edmw, not here. Stop spreading falsehoods and trolling here!

Just search the entire forum, who wrote "CPF was a scam" first! YOU!

Stop spreading falsehoods and trolling here to get attention!

Where did he say CPF is a scam?

Atomic also did not post misinformation. He merely misunderstood the article (due to poor essay) that he read and posted here to seek answers.
