CPU and mainboard premium

Need to get a cpu and mainboard combo to replace a likely dead H270 board with i5-7500 cpu. Tested the psu with a tester and voltages seems ok so that's why likely mobo died, which is an Asrock H270 Fatality.

Looking to get a b660 board with i3-12100 and re-use current parts. Noted in price list that mainboard cpu combo price is for full system purchase. How much is the usual extra to top up if only buying board and cpu?

That's what I though too because getting Mobo from Amazon SG might not have local warranty. To me, the local warranty for mobo is the most important.

Depends on luck. I swapped out my Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K7 for an identical backup MB and the latter died after two days. Now went back to the previous MB.

I experienced the same situation in 2018 when my Asrock H77 motherboard died but my Intel i7 3770 CPU was still healthy. In the end, I had sell away the perfectly working CPU because there were no more replacement LGA 1155 motherboards available locally to continue using my CPU. Because Intel CPU & motherboard had advanced to 8th gen by then. My CPU & motherboard had already been rendered obselete by time.
