CPU Cooler for overclocking

Hi guys i have an i5 4670k CPU and i may be planning to overclock in the future.

I believe for overclocking, an aftermarket cooler is a must? Any recommendations as to which CPU cooler to get?

Cooler master 212x or Evo seems to be quite a popular choice because of it being value-for-money. However, the size is rather big, i doubt it would fit in my casing. (my casing has side fans taking up space)

From what I've seen online, Noctua nh-d14 is highly recommended by many.

What other CPU Coolers is recommended? Is there a need to go for liquid cooling?

Depends on how much you want to OC. All in one water cooler like the corsair h100i runs quieter compare to air cooling and runs slight cooler. Also maintenance free. Only to clean the dust from the rads.

I would suggest you go for either the cooler master evo or cooler master seidon 120m. Below 100 for both IIRC.

Do push pull fans config for both set up.

You are using a haswell CPU. I rather you go and delid your CPU first then think of using 3rd party coolers. Your temps will not improve much if you don't delid.

I'm using corsair h80i for my oc 4670k so far so gd with temps stable below 70 for everyday use. Mid 70 max load during testing with prime95 intel burn test etc.
