CPU Overheating Problem.

Hi guys, I tried to search for an answer but I cant find it anywhere. I would like to ask, as my computer always show me a warning pop up that my CPU is over heating (70+ centigrade). The problem is I am only running dota 2 and it went overheating? Sometimes it also caused my com to just auto turn off without any warning. Do I need a new cpu cooler? I am currently using the default intel cpu cooler.

buy a new thermal paste

or get a cpu cooler. make sure your casing is ATX

my screen will sometimes just blackout and then the GPU fan will start running at max speed as I am hearing a loud fan sound all of a sudden. It den just auto off and turn on again. Is this due to overheating as well?

What you should do now is check whether your overheating is due to a case airflow issue, or mainly due to your gpu/CPU cooler.
70+ for CPU is acceptable and shouldn't cause a shutdown, so I really think its your GPU, based on what you have said so far.
First, take off your side panel and use your standing floor fan or something to directly blow at the insides of your case.
Play some games and see if the problem still happens.
If it does, its due to your GPU.
If it doesn't, it's a case airflow issue.
I'm guessing it's your gpu's thermal paste.

I yesterday just got my GPU back from RMA and when I plug it into my com, this issue appears... before that I was using a loan gpu from the manufacturer and it seem that there is no problem at all. So I am suspecting the GPU i sent for RMA and got back wasnt really fully fixed... what do you all think?

70+ degrees is fine for cpu. My e8500 has been with me since 2009 and it's still in perfect working condition, it's temp is 50+ degrees idle and 81 degrees at full load.

U might wanna check ur bios. My motherboard bios has a cpu max temp setting and upon reaching it my cpu shuts down automatically. Mine's set at 95 degrees by default, maybe yrs is set too low thus it triggers the shutdown automatically when ur game causes ur cpu temp to spike pass 70 degrees occasionally.

As for ur gpu, u might wanna set ur fan speed manually. For years I didn't realise my gpu fan is operating at 20% only, until one day I check and saw that. If u never adjust fan speed before it should be at auto, but if u feel it's insufficient u can set it manually to run at 70%. That should lower the temp significantly.

U should also download msi afterburner and run it when u r playing game. It will track ur gpu usage and temperature, from there u will know if ur gpu is gonna cause problems. Can also adjust ur fan speed accordingly from afterburner when u see ur gpu heating up
