I found a interest in graphic design and recently it really motivate me to learn more on graphic design.

Yes, I am not talented compared to other people... However, I am willing to work hard for it.

I am not very informative about design courses for local unis or overseas unis. My GPA aren't that great about 2.5... :(

I ****ed up in poly bad. With no other choice, I have to go engineering and eventually elective to a electronics business course. That is where a communication module stimulate my interest for graphic design.

I only know about NTU's ADM - design school, but local uni is really hard to get in...

Is there a uni that would provide graphic design course that you people know?

Can you provide me advice to improve my graphic design skills?

I really want to go into this field! :( Hope I can get in a good graphic design course though.

Graphic design is usually a subset of something larger like game design or digital animation. Digital animation degree programmes are provided by Lasalle, NTU ADM also provides a major in Digital Animation. Even with a good GPA, you'd still need a good portfolio to show off your work in order for them to consider you. Admissions are largely based on the work you present them with. Even Lasalle's degree programmes require a portfolio.

For this field they don't really look at your qualification but rather its look at your portfolio.

If u are really interested u can take up those short courses on this area, u just need to google for it. After that do up some designs to add into your portfolio. next u can try do freelance.

food for thought...

I worked in Sg as art director (CompanyA) and even took a lower pay that the market had back in 2009 (2500/mth when AD's are payed 4k mth since I was my first job in Singapore)....I have BA In Graphic, a post grad in editorial design, and a diploma in Advertisign design, 11 years of AD (now 12).

Yah it seems to be true for the pay part. However graphic design is the first step to my career. I hope to move on to web design in the future.
