What are the laptop models? I personally think dell is a better brand... generally the higher end lenovos are good..

These are old machines.. But in this case I would go with the Lenovo thinkpad T420. Its a very durable machine I used one 2 years ago.. and its still around working somewhere in the office... the most hardiest machine ever!. The specs offered are quite ok as well, with a 3 year warranty...

i guess the 3 year warranty is on the hdd only

I used to own a dell 6400 series laptop (which is about 10 years old and still running) the plastic components start to crack with age like the screen bezel and the touchpad got sticky... but believe me this laptop is extinct... and unless dell is providing the warranty u dont want to touch it. everything on my machine was replaced... the area around the touchpad gets discolored..

In this case tho.. the lenovo has better specs and its a more durable machine...plus the black mat finish is richer..

good thing is the chinese people make lots of spare parts for thinkpad
