Old PC of 5-6 years.

Whenever i switch off the PC main switch, my next boot up will force me to go into BIOS setting to update my BIOS.
But ive checked, my BIOS is the latest one from official website. So every boot up i always chose "save and exit" in BIOS page, but will surely receive a msg saying "BIOS" was not updated, continue to exit"? Then reboot and to windows. Time and date also anyhow need to reset it.

But if i shut down and never switch off main switch, i wont get prompted and able to boot directly to window. Time and date no issue.

May i check, does that mean certain hardware life span ending? Kenna virus?

Thanks thanks.

You should replace the CMOS battery. CR2032 which you can buy from NTUC or most electrical/sundry shops.

- Replace battery if cannot.
- Try RAM one by one.
- Try clean install of Windows (not Reset)

if replacing CMOS batt didn't help, try unplugging all USB peripherals from the tower. I had one faulty USB keyboard when started up always boot to the Bios boot menu .
