The didi international app do not have the option of using Singapore's number to register. But they have options for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Thailand numbers. Sucks man!!

no problem using didi in xiamen. only cashless payment if i'm not wrong. i used my cc for payment.

it will be more convenient if you have a local number for the driver to contact you. but i managed to get by with messaging the driver through the app. usually they will want to know if (1) you are at the stated location and (2) you are already there. just use the preset messages to reply. fares are time and distance based and were usually higher than the initial estimate.

sharing experience on this app.....
you really need a china local number.....
usually after booking....the driver will call you to ensure the place to pick up....depends on traffic...they may recommend you to a nearby place for easier pickup.....
payment wise....international credit card is acceptable.....and its cheap.....took those premium cars for 5~7 mins drive cost like SGD$6 max.....

Can't seem to add my credit card as payment option even though my credit card bank said already approved for the app to use. Still showing "inactive" under "international credit card".


Seems like going cashless in China is a big problem for foreign visitors. WeChat, Alipay, Didi all the same problems.
