anyone has an idea... whats the diff between aviva SAF Group insurance and saf group personal accident?

they seems to cover the same thing

can I assume that if I buy 100k coverage for group insurance and then another 100k for personal accident, the payout will be 200k in total?

SAF Group Personal Accident Insurance is different from SAF Group Term Life Insurance, and actually it is a rider. You have to get the latter to get the former.

In fact, group term life pays out an extra $25k for death due to a non-SAF related accident, 120% of sum assured plus $25k for TPD due to an accident, and there is a compensation schedule for accidental total and permanent dismemberment e.g. loss of sight in one eye, 100% sum assured. So there is already additional coverage for claims arising from accidents. The group personal accident policy lets you have more coverage, but it will only pay out if death, TPD or permanent dismemberment is due to an accident. As for how accident is defined, have to look at the contract.

A $100k term life policy and $100k of PA policy will give a total payout of not just $200k, but $225k for death due to a non-SAF related accident and $245k for TPD due to an accident.
