Different carriers = Different battery life?

Hello,

As we know, battery life is closely related to cellphone coverage.

In bad reception, battery life tends to be bad.

Therefore,

has anyone noticed any difference in battery life across the 3 carriers?

I am currently on Starhub, and am looking to switch to Singtel for the better coverage.

My experience for Singtel, depending on where you stay, in places like AMK and Bishan, during peak hours, the 3G is non-existent despite having full 5 bars. Your battery will drain super fast, 10% could be gone within 30 minutes.

That's bad :/ reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking of switching to singtel from starhub because SH is causing a lot of unnecessary wake locks at my home in yck and school in buona vista.

Sing tel coverage at West side is very terrible too

Singtel's performance in all areas will suck when a lot are trying to get online. It's very evident during peak hours, from 7am to 9am and 5.30pm to 8pm when everyone is getting to work and getting home from work.

But off peak hours, Singtel's performance is wonderful. The 3G/HSDPA is literally 3G/HSDPA.

This is based on my experience of working around the whole of Singapore and on different shift timings...

Singtel's coverage is great, even if you disappear to offshore islands or some underground places. Their coverage is insane, but performance can be anything from sucky to great.

I don't know about the other 2 operators, but apparently they may perform better at certain areas than Singtel. Never verified it because I am happy with the red pipe.
