I need some suggestions/advice.

I'm having a dilemma on whether to purchase the current Macbook Pro, which is having a price slash or wait for the Skylake-processor "Macbook Pro 2016," which speculated to arrive either before the year ends in December or during the first quarter of 2016.

Advice, if any? :s8:

The point is really straight, if u need it now, buy. Else, wait as it's a never-ending cycle and getting the latest will also be obsolete in a while.

Price slash differences by how much ? 15% and above? If not just get the latest model.

Im also thinking of getting a macbook pro, are refurbished sets reliable ?

Test your set immediately after receiving the unit and compare it with others if possible. I had 1 experience with refurbished whereby boot-up is slow/noisy fan/heating up. Called up CSO and got it immediately replaced, all this done within 3 days :)

I suggest getting the AppleCare.

Treat it as an insurance investment against any hardware failure during the additional 2 years.

I have used a number of Apple laptops and MacPro over the years and few hardware that failed within the 3 years. The most recent case is the rMBP display and it failed just days short of the plan expiry. Luckily, the entire display was replaced under the plan.
