Just FYI, it looks like the first year fee is not waived, so be aware if you're planning on applying.

OK, ignoring the fact that Diners Club isn't widely used in Singapore, this is actually quite a decent credit card.

https://cards.dinersclub.com.sg/cashback
Also comes with 1 free lounge visit for when we can travel again.
Is it just me, or is there no exclusions for topping up things like Grabpay card and Revolut/ Youtrip? Or maybe it's blocked entirely haha

Anyone wants to pay the Annual Fee to find out?

*EDIT* Youtrip doesn't accept Diner's Club. Most likely will be true for the other two as well. And this will be the main problem of hitting the 5% tier. Diner's club is accepted at too few places.

Grab doesn't accept DC, I tried using my Donki DC card to top up and failed.

True, but places that accept Unionpay will accept DC, and Unionpay acceptance is quite high these days 😊

Based on the earning tiers, first $144.99 does not earn you any cashback, while next tier of $150 earn you 3% and remaining at 5% cashback, subject to cap of $50, you should cap your spending at $1,210 which will yield you $50 and effective cashback of 4.132%.

diners card is super rare acceptance rate hence not gonna bother
That's what I thought too but it's actually quite widely accepted. But of course less accepted that Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Amex.
This is the most attractive feature for me and reason to apply. Can use at hawker centres and coffeeshops. No need to top up like e-wallets (ActiveWallet MyCash, GrabPay...), so it's more convenient.

A simpler solution would actually be to sign up for an Amex card. Same thing, no need to top up. You get whatever rewards from the relevant card too (so 1.5% cashback for Amex True Cashback Card, 1.1 mpd for Amex KrisFlyer Credit Card, etc.)

Thanks for calling! I thought there was no first year free because for the other cards with first year free, the first year free is clearly stated next to the annual fee, eg if you look at the Donki credit card.

And if the second year they charge annual fee, well we all know what to do anyway...call and ask for waiver, if no waive cancel.

any prominent household brands or anchor tenants that we can use diners card on?

provided u hit more spending like above $150-200/mth then make sense to utilise with hawker. less than $150 use this card does not even have any rebate.

In the DC website, it mentioned that it supports Grabfood. Is paying for Grabfood and topup Grab is the 2 different thing?

How about monthly insurance premiums?
