safe to ride on the road?

Its illegal to ride on the road. Only allowed on footpath. Although it may be safer to ride on the roads as some parts have very poor footpaths that may cause you serious injury if crash and fall. If riding on foot path very aware of side roads and driveways where vehicles may exit. Heard of many cases where cyclists are killed this way.
