Disrupt NS for studies

Hi, anyone received letter from NTU/NUS/SMU to confirm your course on their website?

As im gotta ORD 1 mth after the start of uni school term next year. So i would have to disrupt my NS.

Any advise on how you go about doing this?
If your unit have not announce about the application of disruption before the deadline of confirming the course reserved for you in uni.

Hey, yes you can. You should inform your PC in your unit, or you can voice out to your sergeant and they will advise you accordingly. You can disrupt for studies

haha yeah... was wondering to just accept the course first or wait till nearer the deadline then accept.. checked with my unit disrupted personal last year, they say that we will only get our confirmation for disruption at e mth of our disruption date.. kinda risky man..

accept n disruption inform your oc. get letter from uni n letter from oc then apply to disrupt.

if u disrupt, it means you still have to serve out your remaining NS term. When you can choose to serve is at the discretion of your unit.

Maybe not. furthermore. disrupt for that many months even more unlikely...

By accepting the course meaning I have to be able to disrupt n out of army in aug. Somehow the case is I have to accept the course before disruption is confirm by unit, which is worrying. What happen if I accept e course and e disruption is rejected by ur unit 1 mth before u enter ur uni ? U get all fked up. Tt e issue I'm relating to ... I wonder what is e practice of people who disrupt for studies . Do they assume that they could get disrupted and just accept e course. then they put up for disruption n in most cases e unit will approve their disruption application ?

Any lao jiao who disrupted before care to enlighten us ?

Dude come on, you are not the only one who's going to disrupt and there are many ppl before you who have disrupted. Yours ain't special case.

The practice is do what you are told to do by your superiors. You accept already, you got BLACK AND WHITE, you will get stronger say. If you know B&W you don't have much say if they want to ask you proof. If you want go ask the school what's the procedure like, I believe you are not the first case who needs to disrupt.

i dun think u can disrupt for poly bro. if i'm not wrong is only for uni studies, mainly to cater for poly graduates who enlisted on nov.

MINDEF provides sufficient opportunities for NS-liable males to attain up to first education bar qualifications before enlistment, subject to the deferment cut-off age criteria. A first education bar is defined as GCE 'A' level, Polytechnic diploma and equivalent qualifications. Disruption will hence be restricted only for full-time National Servicemen (NSFs) to pursue a higher educational qualification, such as an advanced diploma, associate degree or degree course.

for local diploma, very low chance to defer. having said that it still all depends on your S1 and CO..
