Haha :D

Given my rig that was built many years back already, was thinking to do some upgrading as well.

Code:
CPU - Intel Core i5 760 @ 2.80GHz
MB - Asus P7P55D-E PRO
Memory - Kingston DDR3 2GB x2
Graphic Card - AMD Radeon HD 6870
PSU - Seasonic X-Series 750W 80Plus Gold
HDD - WD Blue 1TB

Any parts I can upgrade it and fit into that motherboard as well? Been away from hardware awhile. Not sure what's the market price and good hardware parts as well.

Can suggest me parts for upgrading as well MoneyFace? :D:D
Sapphire R9-280 3GB
MSI/Palit GTX 970 4GB are great for dollar right now.

But your CPU's PCIe 2.0 x16 @ 1.1 speeds can be a main source of performance bottleneck for these higher-end cards. A platform change should be imminent as well. Skylake is coming in 3 months time though...

Or its better to overhaul the whole system? Headache..:s22:

Would need advise, what are the alternatives of getting a graphic card that can fit into my rig as posted above?

In terms of bottleneck, is it still advisable to still stick to getting good gaming graphic card? Preferably NVIDIA card though.

Hey all,

Could have probably decided on getting a graphic card which will not bottleneck with my current i5 760 processor.

Any recommendation? Previously was using HD6870 but got fried out. Looking for a graphic card better then the previous one and won't bottleneck as well.

Any recoendation in terms of AMD and NVIDIA?

GTX 750 Ti & R7-260X are performance equivalent to your HD 6870. Will not have any bottleneck issue....

Sorry to trouble you, apart from those 2 that you replied. What are the next gpu that won't cause any bottleneck issue as well ah? If so for the gtx750TI, what are the better or so called "ideal" brand to get? Asus, Msi.. Etc..

just get the brand that you find it looks better, since most use the reference design there isnt much difference other than the cooler. Consider the warranty factor as well.
