Hi everyone, i've been using laptop all my life and yesterday my HP laptop just died on me. I'm seeking to purchase a DIY desktop from SLS and would require some advice from you experts out there. I require advice on the hardware needed to build this desktop.

I play game occasionally only so it's not a priority. If i do play i will only use it on 1 monitor. The other monitors will be for work and internet purposes.

Budget: $2000 +/- (1 system unit & 2 monitors)
Usage:
  • needs to hook up to 4 monitors in the near future. So i hope the equipment i'm getting now can support that next time.
  • Supports multiple applications at any one time.
  • Applications such as
1) Battlefield 3, or any upcoming fun games like GTA
2) Trading software such as Jtrader, CQG and MT4
3) Microsoft Excel
4) Google Chrome - facebook, news website and other java/flash intensive sites
5) Spotify

Thank you for taking time to look through this post.

Your budget might not be enough because your budget of $2K have to include 2 monitors.

Also to be realistic. You need 16gb ram and an i7 if you gonna open more internet pages and also games running all at once.

Also be specific if you gaming on 1 screen or 4 screens.

I've been using laptop all these while and right now what i have for the new desktop is just a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Due to budget constraints, I can afford only a system unit and 2 monitors now. However, i wish to get the components that can support up to 4 monitors in the near future.

I am not a frequent or hardcore gamer. Perhaps on a daily basis i will play an hour or two of BF3 while running my other programs. If i were to play bf3, it will only be on one monitor.

I understand $2000 is quite a tight budget for the items i am asking for. If there's a need i am willing to fork out more to get the items needed. However, i wish it can be worked within the budget. Perhaps you might have an idea to how it can be done. Thanks alot!

Realistically no. 2 Monitors will set you back at least $400 about there which leave you with $1600. Want to play upcoming and top games like GTA? Even with Lazada discount that's another $700. Left $900. Want to run on 4 monitors in future so that you can play game and launch internet and monitor your stocks? i7. The combo roy recommended you is already using a damn cheapo mono and tat sets you back another $480, you are left with $420. You still need RAM, casing, storage devices, OS and PSU.

We are not gods here that man magically fulfill your demands with that kind of budget. You can take Roy's suggestions and downgrade the SSD to a 250GB and top up another $300ish for your 2 monitors
