Hi all,

Another thread for DIY gaming PC :s22:
Planning to build 2 similar sets of PC for me and my wife coming month.

Mostly using PC for gaming on MMOs, and some new AAA titles. Not thinking to overclock and will be getting 1080p monitors. I lurked around and think will be getting some of the following parts.

-Intel I5-4460
-Fractal Design R5 casing
-8Gb Value Ram(?)
-Corsair 256 SSD(?)

For monitor I am thinking to get 3 sets of U2414H total for both the PCs and for keyboard probably Filco MJ2 keyboards.

Are there any upcoming promos that I should grab the items at? Lazada/Rakuten or the IT fair that is coming?
Also for GPU, should I wait for the upcoming new GPUs releases before getting them? Will they affect the current GPU prices?
Price range for single set probably around 2.5k?

What do you guys think?

Thanks :)

What's your purpose to have 3 screens per PC?

Or you mean 2 for 1 PC then the other PC only 1 screen.

Sucha loving gaming couple. Presume you people met at LAN cafe? :D

$2500 is quite overkill for a great gaming PC. Are you looking at having some colour theme for these 2 machines? Like black with red? You can also afford to go compact if you wish to.

Aha, yeah, just that I have been waiting for quite some time to get my own pc (pci days lol 10 years ago?)
Not really thinking of any colour theme, just gona hide everything inside the casing :s13:

Oh, I think I might need USB wifi adapter too, since I cant connect directly to cable :(
For optical drive thinking to just get an external one for both of us, since I think I will only use it once in a blue moon.
Thanks Roy for the nice summarising list :)

What about the issue with GTX970, I assume there will be no problems as long as I lower the graphical setting to not max out the VRAM? I hope I do not need to change the GPU fast because of this issue :)

I guess this means for you there are not much point in waiting for the June GPU releases line up?

Think wife will be too cheap to go for the $100 more GPU, I will show it to her to see what she thinks :s13:

From Roy's list seems I will be getting most of the bulky parts from SLS, :s22: wonder if I can carry them all.

Vram should not be an issue as you are playing mostly 1080p. Dont crank up too much settings.

Head down to sls and buy 1 rig at a time. You are better of getting from there instead of everything try to get from lazada. Get friends to help you. Treat them kopi.

Get 1 time shot from sls to get more cash discounts over the counter. Since you are purhasing almost 5k worth of goods. Better for you to shop around. Happy shopping.

Thanks Roy for suggestion and tips! Will probably be heading down to SLS next week with a trolley probably, to get the rig :)
