I have a 3 year old system,

FX-4100 with a Coolmaster hyper 212 evo cpu cooler

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-D3

sapphire HD7870 OC Ghz.

and running 14.9 amd catalyst.

I was playing CS GO when out of no where i got a BSOD. After restarting and playing CSGO or dota 2 it will flicker and eventually crashed. Thought it might be GPU/CPU overheating so i bought some canned air, cleaned out the dust from the heatsync of the CPU & GPU, problem still persisted.

Downloaded a Temp monitoring system, pumped up the fan speed of my GPU via AMD catalyst and lowered the clock rate of gpu and mem.

The problem is still there just that instead of BSOD my computer either hangs or recovers with the message saying that the AMD driver stop working and has recovered. Re-installed AMD catalyst, didnt help.

Temps of the CPU is around 30C and GPU 45~50C whenever the game crashes. Have lowered resolutions and map quality's and ran then in windowed modes.

Problems still persist.

Will appreciate if anyone has any ideas on how to fix the issues and if they can recommend me a shop where i can go and they will swap out my GPU with another and run the game to see if the problem still exist after changing GPU.

If really my GPU or CPU is dying/dead then i will buy new components buts that's my last resort.

Thanks

Check ram. Previously my amd catalyst keep crashing and bsod cause ram spoil. Use memtest86+ run for at least 10 mins. Not 100 % sure but no harm

The bsod error disappeared too fast to read much. Bsod only happened once, then the problems started.

you can search for the dump file in C:\Windows\minidump, provided its being saved.

do upload the file so that other users can help you read and debug. if you have many, upload the most recent one. preferably 3.
