Lai liao! Anyone buying for holiday use? The 2” screen is tiny. I am wondering whether a gimbal and using own phone make more sense than this

Why not get a good gimbal then shoot with iPhone?
Because one the reasons for dji pocket series popularity is the ability to be discreet. Equipment stealth is important if you want to record in some countries. Another is the ease of use, just turn on & record. No need to attach phone, calibrate etc ... Previously you can argue for image quality but with the new sensor, less argument for phone especially if you are comparing pocket 3 vs phone as it is without additional equipment.

Ideally this would be the perfect travel setup, my pixel phone + pocket 2/3

Seems like:
-pocket 3 and pocket 2 accessories not compatible.
-screen must be twisted for it to shoot horizontal. neh twist is vertical footage.
-with wide angle lens(108 degree) like got more distortion.

- yes because some functions are built in now thus most of the previous accessories is no longer required
- can shoot vertical video without holding it sideways but 3K resolution only ( don't think is big issue since only for platforms like tik tok, instagram and facebook
- not uncommon for ultrawide, same if you go max UW on action cams

Too expensive, i will just keep on hold of my pocket 2.
yah... having not owned either of the previous versions, I was looking forward to it but it really is too expensive for a casual user. Very worth it if you use it to create content for a living.

I really like this kind no frills simple straight up reviews where youtubers test the device exactly like what normal users would do. Because, not everyone is going shoot cine d or dlog, color grade and edit the video like a pro. This tells me exactly what i will get out of the box with the basic settings.

I feel this is good if you are using a single device for your travel, special events. The power of pocket 3 is the Dji mimo AI software editing etc… perfect for blogging.

Personally I feel content will be more important than specs. The trick between good or so so footage is really about the composition. Give you a $300k setup and you don’t know how to shoot also useless. If know how to shoot, iPhone also ok

If any of you were to buy, will you buy basic or creative combo? I heard this model is hot. Like global sold out. If buy from china, local DJI will cover?

Will get the creative. The extra accessories are worth it. The mic alone with built transmitter is a plus factor.

Actually u don’t need those accessories. Unless you are a blogger right? If for family trip, I think built in mic is powerful enough
