Hi guys, I know there is a thread for where to tailor clothes already but I would like to share my experience with Dorcas Stitch to warn unsuspecting victims. Many of the guys who fell for their "promo" wrote bad reviews on their facebook page but instead of acknowledging their mistake, they recently hid the review section from public.
I usually tailor my shirts/suits overseas so I decided to give local tailor a try when I saw their shirt promotion. When I saw the crowd there, I already mentally prepared myself that they won't meet the promised 3 weeks delivery time. When one of their staff made the measurement, she looked very inexperienced and did not do some of the measurements properly like my other tailors. I thought she was new so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. After I made payment, a couple came in and complained that the (regular priced) suit they made was bad and couldn't make it in time for their wedding! That was when I smelled trouble. True enough, I did not receive my shirts for more than double their committed lead time and they are very slow to or dont respond at all. They gave me 2 more shipment dates and that was when I realized they don't even make their stuff in Singapore at all (in Bangkok to be exact). When those deadlines are over, they did not even update me. Some finally received their shirts in condition "worse than off-the-rack" when they promised "bespoke". Alterations will take another 2-3 weeks and one guy didn't even bother as he doesn't want to go through the pain again.
I should have stuck with my tailors or at least a decent tailor in Singapore. I hope my experience of "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" will be a good lesson for those who are starting to venture into tailored clothing. Better spend a bit more than waste all your money and time. Happy new year guys
