Double degree or not(comp sci/IS)

Hi guys im applying for the local unis early admission and scholarship soon but cant figure if i should take a double degree or not. Im primarily interested in computer science, but i dont mind doing extra modules from other facs like biz and science.
So im wondering if i can apply to overload and take extra modules beyond the normal if im not taking a double degree/major? And what if the module is from another fac? Can i still do it?

Let's say if the above answers are yes, then will my extra credits count towards a double major/degree if i meet the min. no. of credits but i only applied for a single degree?

Also,is it true that unis prefer to give scholarships to double degree applicants? All 3 promote their double degrees a lot and many of their scholars also take double degrees. But i wanna leave some time for cca and maybe have a coding project on the side(maybe i can be the next mark zuckerberg HAHA jkjk). So the flexibility is a plus for me and i dont want to have to chase paper qualifications if i can.

Oh if u wanna share about your comp sci/IS experience also can. Btw im going for smu's IS camp in dec so if anyone here is going too HOORAY!

I used to discuss this with my brother when he was a freshman in NUS. For double degree, one will be your primary degree while other will be you secondary degree. If you fail to perform your primary degree, they will kick you out from secondary degree. Now my brother had graduated & he did not regret making the decision of getting a single degree decision cause it was really heavy workload for a single degree.

To add on, you maybe academic smart so the one that will prevent you from graduating on time will be the module bidding system. In the end, you may end up choosing crap specialized core modules & crap elective modules (can be from other faculty) instead of the one you are interested in.

For CCAs, don't waste time unless you can get a very good results and aiming to get a scholarship to build your profile.

Both my siblings had a scholarship and did a double degree. No issues with time management nor coping with the workload. They had time to do other stuff outside of uni.

Wah siala hopefully i can be like them.
Mind sharing whats a typical week like?
Do they get extra credits when bidding for modules/courses?
Btw is theirs a uni scholarship? Whats their double degree?
