Hi guys

Is there a way to downgrade S7 from Android v7 (Nougat) to v6 (Marshmallow)?

This is to support an app that is not v7 compatible yet.

Once the app is v7 compatible, is it simply just update from v6 to v7 via system update?

Thank you

You cannot downgrade OS, even if it can be done, it will involve root access and this will trip Knox counter, and it means your warranty will be officially over.

its not worth the time and effort to downgrade an OS for the sake of an app, you will totally regret it if you understand the process of doing so.

Service centre will also not accede to your request for doing so as well, though they have the tools to do it..

I think you hv the wrong info. Downgrading should be possible with the right stock firnware using Odin. I won't say data will be kept intact but if wiping is not an issue, he just need to download the right files. Flash Samsung firmware using Odin with not trip knox. Search on Internet

No, not recommended. There is a chance you can softbrick the device.
The bootloader version varies in updates especially from one of a high Android version. The secure bootloader will prevent even flashing via Odin down to a lower version of the bootloader to protect potential methods to bring down the security of the device.

If the security level of the version varies between the two, there is a chance downgrade may not work.

Yes, it's possible they have upgraded the BL when up the OS and the new BL disallow downgrading. However, people hv reported downgrade successful. Using Odin is quite safe so long knox are still intact. Well the thing is you won't know until you try. It depends how adventurous he is and how badly he wants to downgrade
