Downsize and update my PC

Hi bros need some advise on a new rig. I no longer game and wanna use it as sort of a HTPC to 4k steaming via plex + normal web surfing and office work.

Anyone can recommend me a small footprint and quiet itx rig? or i'm better off with a NUC + NAS combo?

Budget around 1k, sorry abit out with the latest hardware liao.

Or a simple AMD Ryzen 3 2200G APU rig will do the job.

look for laptops with hdmi 2.0 like dell inspiron 15 7000.

or intel nuc with kabby or apollo lake. those can play 10 bit 4k.

even a cheap $300 laptop with n3350/3450 can play 4k but dont have hdmi 2 to output 4k 60fps

A Ryzen 2200G in a mini ITX board with a streacom FC8 is what you're looking for. Can't get quieter than passive cooling.

I actually run a dedicated HTPC too with streaming and live TV with DVBviewer.

It's a platform with a VIA Eden X4 4450 (VX11 chipset)

If it's for 24/7 use, your best bet is actually Gemini lake. Something cheap like ASRock j4105. Only issue is need to buy from Newegg and ship it over. The combo costs around 100-120sgd after conversion.

Cheaper than I thought hmmm

Here is mine in the Streacom F8. I'm not using the heatpipes as my board is already passive. But I'd recommend passive for a HTPC always to avoid any annoyance from the fans and dust build up. HTPCs run for hours at a time too so a passive case will save you some energy as well. Mine's not even dirty when I open the case up
