Hi,

Trying to get some reasonable priced Distill Water as Coolant mix.
Are those bottled Distill Water sold in pharmacy (primarily for drinking water) good enough ?
I believe these are via reverse osmosis rather than distillation process.

Or anyone know if the NamWah Battery water (the only brand sold in most pump stn) is distill water ?

eg.

Thanks

anyone knows how to replace the coolant by yourself? I've no idea what's the current coolant being used and would like to replace the coolant. Don't think we can mix coolant right? lol

If would be messy. Try not to DIY yourself.

Else check your over flow tank or open up cap of radiator(Open only when the engine is cold) to check the colour of coolant. Buy the same colour coolant.

Most coolant come pre-mixed. Drive to your trusted workshop and get it changed.

At the bottom of the radiator, there’s a plug at the side. You open that up and also the riadiator cap and most of the coolant will be drained (except those in the engine).

After draining the coolant, you fill it up with the same amount that was drained with distilled water. Run the car for 5-10 mins.

Then, drain again. Repeat once if you are hardworking. Otherwise, top up with coolant recommended by manufacturer.

Always use Pre mix from start. Not distilled water.

thanks guys, seems too troublesome to dispose off the coolant without polluting the drain. i guess workshop will be the better choice

Assuming car still being serviced regularly, isn’t that a part of the service package? (Esp service from AD for newer cars)
