i dun recall i need to apply FVP.

just need to buy insurance at malaysia border and bring your LTA vehicle log.

I entered Thailand via Wang Kelian. Exit Thailand via Sungai Kolok, as I'm heading to Terengganuto return back to Singapore via the East Coast Malaysia (Terengganu > Kuantan > Mersing > JB). The documentation should be the same for all the Malaysia-Thailand borders unless the rules change.

Nice. It is my plan to cross at Wang Kelian the next time I am driving across. Has anyone driven a Malaysian vehicle into Thailand? This is my plan though I wonder how it can be done, for a Singapore to drive a Malaysian rental vehicle into Thailand. The basic insurance limits driving a Singapore-registered vehicle to southern Thailand for insurance, I recall. I may drive to Bangkok.

Wang Kelian is very nice. very scenic, better than entering into Sadao (via Bukit Kayu Hitam) where most people will go and jam.

before reaching the Wang Kelian border pass. You will need to drive up this winding road first.

Malaysia-Thailand border custom:

Once passed the custom, if you head towards Krabi (like I do), you will definitely pass this nice stretch of road.

if u want to rent car to go Thailand, I think the same procedure as SG cars cos I see alot of Malaysian cars entering too. But need to check if the car rental company allows you to drive out of Malaysia.
