700D, 70D.
TS asked for DSLR...You might want to take a look at Panasonic GH3 or G6. Both have v.good review on Video capabilities.
700D, 70D.
2nd this, if have budget, go for 70D I think it suits what you described above due to dual pixel AF techOtherwise 700d is cheaper and gets the job done, but it focuses slight slower than 70d's... Both are easy to change focus while recording just by tapping on the LCD like a smartphone.
Also if you are using onboard mic it is better to use an STM lens otherwise you are going to get the whirring and clicking sound while the lens is focusing. Otherwise with external mic its fine.
Do note both models do not have a headphone jack, I dunno why Canon decided to not include it since it will be useful to hear what you are actually recording. You never know if there is a buzzing noise and it would be a hassle to re-record again. I suppose transferring the file to a laptop on the spot and listening to it using earphones is an option but certainly troublesome.
Good luck on your purchase and shoot!
TS asked for DSLR...
Try mounting the lenses TS mentioned on the GH3.I infer that TS is a beginner looking to get into video.. other than sensor and the lack of mirror, what difference is there between the GH3/G6 and a Canon DSLR?
for the price of a 70D you could get a GH3 with much more professional video features such as time code and no overheating when shooting for long periods of time. great battery life too.
GH3 also has a vari-angle touchscreen OLED screen, Live View and a 3.5mm headphone jack. no need to buy adapter.
Out of box or with Metabones?been there done that.![]()
Out of box or with Metabones?

That kind of sums it up...hahahah obviously not out of box lah. Metabones doesn't have a EF-MFT adapter yet. RRM has an active adapter with electronic connection which allows you to control the iris but it is damn freaking ex.
but there are cheaper passive options available from ebay, for people like us.![]()
